Privacy Policy

The short version. PokerSonar has no user accounts, no advertising and no third-party tracking. Your bankroll records, favorites and settings never leave your phone. We keep anonymous counts of which features are used so we know what to improve, tied to a random identifier - never your name, email or an account - and stored in our own database. Beyond that, the only thing on our servers is what we need to send push notifications, and only if you switch them on.
This policy explains what PokerSonar (“the app”, “we”) does with personal data. The data controller is PokerSonar. You can reach us at support@pokersonar.app.
1. Data that never leaves your device
The following is stored locally on your phone and is never transmitted to us. Uninstalling the app deletes it permanently.
- Bankroll entries: tournament results, cash game sessions, buy-ins, cashouts, expenses and currency
- Favorites: saved tournaments, festivals, online series and events
- Preferences: language, filters, notification settings, last-seen markers
- Anything you type into the calculators
2. Data we store on our servers
A small anonymous record lives on our servers so referral credits and push notifications survive a reinstall.

The recovery key is used only to identify your anonymous account on our server. It is never shared with any third party.
Only if you turn on push notifications, we additionally store:
- Push token - the address your device is reachable at; without it, no notification can be delivered
- Selected countries, so we only alert you about tournaments in places you care about
- Radius in kilometers and an approximate center point, only if you turn on “near me” alerts. We store a coarse center so we can decide whether a new tournament falls inside your radius. We do not keep a history of your movements.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating the referral scheme and keeping it fair, using minimal, anonymous data. For push notifications specifically: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), given when you switch them on. You can withdraw it at any time by turning them off, which deletes the notification settings.
3. Anonymous usage analytics
To understand which features are worth improving, the app keeps simple counts of how often each feature is opened - for example how many times the map, the list, the calculators or the calendar are used. These counts are stored in our own database (Supabase), never shared with any third party, and no advertising or analytics SDK is involved.
What is recorded is deliberately minimal: the name of the feature (from a fixed list we defined - never anything you type or view), the count, the platform (iOS or Android), and the day. Each count is attached to your anonymous account identifier (see section 2). It is not your name, email or an account you hold elsewhere, and we cannot identify you from it. We use it only to tell one anonymous device from another, so that “100 taps” can be read as “from 5 people” or “from 50 people”.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in maintaining and improving the app, balanced against the minimal, anonymous nature of the data.
4. Location
The app asks for location permission for two things: centering the map on you, and - if you choose - alerting you about new tournaments within a radius. Location is read on the device. A coarse center point is stored only when radius alerts are on. Declining the permission leaves the rest of the app fully usable.
5. Tournament and venue data
Schedules, venues and news in the app are compiled from publicly published sources such as operator websites and poker media. Reading them requires no personal data from you, and we do not record which listings you view.
6. Service providers
- Supabase - database and hosting for the tournament catalog and, if enabled, your notification settings.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging - delivery of push notifications. Google processes the push token to route the message.
- Google Maps Platform - the map view. Google receives the technical requests needed to render map tiles.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics - crash reporting. If the app crashes, a stack trace and basic device/OS information are sent so we can fix the bug. No name, email or location is included.
These providers act on our instructions and may process data outside your country under standard contractual clauses. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
7. What we do not do
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers
- No advertising, behavioral tracking or third-party analytics SDKs (our usage counts are anonymous and first-party - see section 3; crash reports are the one exception, see section 6)
- No user accounts, passwords, names or email addresses
- No selling or renting of data to anyone
- No gambling, wagering or money handling of any kind - PokerSonar is an information directory
8. Retention
The anonymous account record (section 2) is kept for as long as the app is on your device, so referral credits survive a reinstall; ask us to delete it and it is removed. Notification settings are kept until you turn notifications off, uninstall the app, or ask us to delete them. Push tokens rejected as invalid by the delivery service are removed automatically. Anonymous usage counts (section 3) are aggregated by day and kept only as long as they are useful for improving the app; they carry no contact details, so there is nothing in them that identifies you.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, or object to processing. In practice the records we hold are tied only to your device's recovery key (section 2), never to your name, email or an account you hold elsewhere, so we cannot identify you from them and are not required to collect additional data in order to try (Article 11 GDPR). To erase them, follow the data deletion page; turning notifications off deletes notification settings on its own. General questions go to support@pokersonar.app. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
10. Children
PokerSonar covers gambling-related events and is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
11. Security
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Notification records are protected by row-level security so a device can only read and write its own row.
12. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and the updated version appears here before it takes effect in the app.
